After you reach the age of 21, milestone birthdays seem to lose their appeal somewhat. When you are in your early twenties, you still have your youthful appearance and life ahead of you; somehow these years can fly past so easily and before you know it you are 30, 40 and then 50.
You don’t have to be afraid of these milestones though! Each year makes you wiser after all, so it really is worthwhile celebrating instead of crying and moaning. If you are coming up to a “big” birthday, it is likely that you will be looking for ways to mark the occasion. Here are just a few suggestions to help you come up with your own special day:
Get a makeover
If your body is starting to show the signs of aging more than you would like, you could book yourself in for a few treatments so you feel like a brand new person on your birthday. You can have more permanent treatments like dental implants or microdermabrasion, or settle for something else like a manicure and haircut. To finish off the effect, you could buy a new outfit especially for your birthday; you are sure to get lots of praise from your friends and family members.
Throw a huge party
Perhaps you are more interested in having a good old knees up, so it could be time to start your party preparations. You could come up with a theme such as a cowboy western or the swinging sixties. This will give you plenty of inspiration when it comes to music selections, decorations, and of course your outfit. Make sure you have a professional or amateur photographer present to get some good snaps of the event. If you don’t like doing all of the booking and organising, seek the help of a willing loved one or find a professional party planner instead.
Visit a new country
If you don’t want to make a huge fuss with your friends and family, you might be more inclined to escape the UK for a few days. It could be the perfect opportunity for you to discover somewhere you have always wanted to visit, or even somewhere you know nothing about. Life is an adventure so now is a good a time as any to enjoy one. Choose between planes, trains, cars or motorhomes for your transport, and then head off for the best birthday yet! Traveling is not something for everyone, but you could still have a new experience here in the UK. Have a look online to read about some of the thrilling days out and excursions you could have. Common choices include air activities such as skydiving, flying a glider and observing the countryside from a hot air balloon. Other popular activities involve speed, such as bungee jumping or track experiences. Step outside of your comfort zone and you will see the next ten years as an opportunity rather than a curse.
